A how-to guide

Comments are the way that blog users and viewers can share their own ideas in relation to posts that appear on the blog. The most recent posts are listed in the right-hand sidebar of the blog.

You can add a comment to any blog post, simply by clicking on the link below its title. The link will say either “Leave a comment” (if there are no comments for this post yet) or else it will list the number of comments that other people have left (as in the example above). So the first step is to click the comment link for the post you want to comment on.

Once you click the link, the current blog post will reload and all the comments users have left in relation to it will be listed below it. In the image above are some example comments. Below the comments you will see an area where you can leave your own comment.

The image to the left explains how to go about leaving your comment. Follow the steps in the red boxes.

Once you click submit, your post will be saved. If it is your first comment ever, your teacher needs to approve it before it appears publicly on the site (but you still get to see a preview yourself).

After approval by your teacher, your first comment will appear on the blog for others to see. The next time you leave a comment you won’t need to wait for approval. Remember, it’s a public forum. Spelling is important. Can you spot the spelling error in the above example?
