Lesson 4- Phonics Introduction: Today we are doing some phonics activities! First, we need to warm our brains up. We are going to do this by doing ‘quick write’. Your adult will read you the letters below and you will need to write them. I have colour coded the letters, depending on which objective colour you are using. If you are green, use the green letters, if you are blue use the green and blue letters, if you are purple, use the green, blue and purple letters.

• A dice/ counters Instructions: I can identify the initial sounds in pictures Look at the images below, identify the initial sound, practice writing the letters. You can do this with a pen/ pencil, mark making in flower/ shaving foam, paint, outside with

chalks, painting etc.

I can read phase 3 words and use them in a sentence Adults: For this activity you will need the board game below. I f you have a game of snakes and ladders boards at home you can use pieces of paper to cover the squares and write your own words on them (using the words from the board given.) When you/ your child lands on a new word then put that word in to a sentence, either verbally or by writing. e.g. If I land on the word ‘cow’ the sentence I might say/ write might be ‘ A cow is black and white.’

I can use my phonics to read tricky words and put them into a sentence.

Lesson 5 - Telling a story Instructions: Today we are going to tell a story about going to the circus. You can do this in different ways:

You might want to act like one of the performers, you might want to make a story map, you could make a puppet show to retell the story, draw a picture and talk to your adult about all the things that you can see, hear, smell. You can do this task in any way that you like!

Lesson 7- Dough Disco

Introduction: You’re going to do some dough disco activities today. Access YouTube on any device that you have and type in ‘dough disco’, there are lots of choices of songs on there and you can choose whichever you like. To make it even more interesting you could choose your favourite songs and create your own dough disco dances.

I can practice my fine motor skills by playing with my dough. I can follow instructions to make different dough disco moves. I can create my own dough disco song.

Lesson 9- Colourful Semantics Introduction: We are going to look at some pictures today and use colourful semantics, colourful semantics help us to form sentences.

Instructions: Look at the pictures and use the prompts below to answer questions. We are using colourful semantics and today we are concentrating on SAYING a sentence. Look at the pictures and use the prompts to help you.
