We wanted to familiarize the students from our school with English speaking countries’

holidays. We decided to compare them with Polish traditions.

To start with, we chose three holidays celebrated both in

Poland and England, i.e. Christmas, Valentine’s Day,

Shrove Tuesday.

We organized the sale of sweet snacks famous in Poland and in England. We will hand over the

income from the sale to Gregory’s parents to donate the expensive operation of the sick

boy.

Gregory is a boy who was born in our village about a year ago with

TAR syndrome. It means he has no hands

We created a website where we put some photos from our actions, good recipes and

detailed information about our activities.

website - www.eprojekt.cba.pl

This was our first action. The sale included gingerbread, poppy-seed cake, cheesecake, which are typical for the British tradition.

At this stage we collected 202 zł 10gr

Then we organized the sale for „Valentine’s Day” and

„Tłusty Czwartek”, which in British culture is known as

„Shrove Tuesday”

Valentines Day’s and Shrove Tuesday

The sale included: English pancakes (with maple syrupand some cream), a cake

and cookies

Doughnuts and Angel wings

We have collected 163zł 20gr

The students from our school really liked our project. Most of them are interested in the next

part of the project.

At the same time we helped Grześ to get money for his

operation.

Our next step will be Easter.

This time we plan to sell yeast lambs, chocolate eggs and branches of pussy willow.

At the end of the project we are going to prepare a quizz checking, how much the

students remember about English speaking countries’

sweet traditions.

Thank you for attention
