Welcome to the Adventure
Life as a Cub Scout is fun, adventurous and rewarding. As a Cub Scout, you will join our Cub Pack on exciting adventures, discovering hidden talents and exploring the world around them. Cubs is the second section of the Scouting Movement for 8 to 10 ½ year olds. In this section, excitement and adventure are key. The Cub Scout Programme offers Cub Scouts a huge variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities. After a few weeks, you will be ‘invested’. This is when you promise to do your best and help others.

About this book This book was put together to help you keep track of how many Paw points you have earned at Cubs. Paw points are given during inspection, to the winning team of some games, to the Cub of the month or just for excellent behaviour. You will get a stamp for every Paw point you earn on one of the charts in this book, every time you fill a page you will get the reward written below the chart.
This book is yours to take home, but you will need to remember to bring it every week! If you forget it, you will lose any Paw points earned that week. We can give you replacement books, but you will lose any Paw points that you had in your old book.
You will also find lots of useful information in the book which will help you during Cub or inspection and teach you some handy life skills. There are even some badges that you can complete at home and bring the evidence into cubs to show the leaders.

Sixes You will be put into a team that we call a six. Each six is ran by a Sixer and a Seconder. You will be introduced to your six when you first join the group. Inspection At the start of every Cub meeting we do an inspection. This is when we check you have things like this book, your uniform, you will also be asked a for good deed you have done that week and to show a Scouting skill. These will be taught during cubs and tips can also be found in this book. Grand Howl is a ceremony used by Cub. It was devised by Robert Baden-Powell and is based on the Mowgli stories in Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book. In the ceremony, Cubs act out the wolves greeting Akela, the "Old Wolf" at the Council Rock and are reminded of the Cub Scout Promise.

Neckers These are the things we wear around our neck you will be given a White Necker when you first join us and after you are invested you will be given a coloured necker. Its £5.00 for a new Necker. Badges During your time a Cubs you will Earn badges for your uniform these are general given out 3 times a year at the end on term. It’s 50p for replacement badges.
