Chorus:Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,To the cross where Thou hast died.Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord.To Thy precious bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service Lord,By the power of grace divine.Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,And my will be lost in Thine.

Chorus:Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,To the cross where Thou hast died.Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord.To Thy precious bleeding side.

Oh the pure delight of a single hourThat before Thy throne I spend,When I kneel in prayer and with Thee my God,I commune as friend with friend!

Chorus:Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,To the cross where Thou hast died.Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord.To Thy precious bleeding side.

*Opening Prayer

(Proverbs 8, Psalm 8)a

L= O Lord, you revealwisdom and spiritual insightthrough your presence increation.\

P= When we look at theheavens, we see your vastness.When we look at seas teemingwith fish and verdant fieldspainted like a canvas, we see your creativity and your bounty.

For all of this and so muchmore, we praise your name.

A Call to Reconciliation

L= Created as stewards of all creation, we know how often we have sunk to depths of faithless living.  We lack the stamina to follow Christ through the Kingdom, and ignore the Spirit's calls to justice.

  Yet, God looks into our souls and sees the delight of God's heart. Let us join in prayer to the One who does not disappoint us.

*Prayer of Confession

All= God of glory, grace and Wisdom,/ you call to us,/ but we do not listen./ We trust in the emptiness of the world,/ but are reluctant to hope in your Word.

We boast in our successes,/ but ignore the sufferings of others./  Justice is what we demand for lawbreakers,/ instead of it becoming a lifestyle for ourselves.

M= Compassionate Parent, our Creator:

P= have mercy on us; M= Beloved Son of God, Jesus, our Redeemer:

P= have mercy on us.

M= Holy Spirit, the Life-Giving Womb:

P= have mercy on us.

*Words of Assurance

(Romans 5)

M= Through the power of the Holy Spirit,God fills our souls with grace and wisdom.It is from this grace that we have hope.

It is from this wisdom that we know God’s love.It is from the living Godthat we find life and forgiveness.

*Passing of Christ’s Peace

(Romans 5)

M= Since we have peace with God through Jesus Christ,

let us stand and share this peace with one another.

*Responsive ReadingPsalm 8:1-9

L= O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all

the earth! P= You have set your glory above the heavens.

L= Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a

bulwark because of your foes,

P= to silence the enemy/ and the avenger.

L= When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established;

P= what are human beings that you are mindful of them,/ mortals that you care for them?

L= Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor.

P= You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; /you have put all things under their feet,

L= all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

P= O LORD, /our Sovereign,/ how majestic is your name in all the earth!/
