LODGEMENT GUIDE AND APPLICATION FORM
Each applicant should read this information before completing and submitting the application form
As an applicant for a Destination Hervey Bay Grant, you must ensure that the information contained
in your application is complete and correct.
If you are unsure about any of the information required in the application it is important that you
visit our website www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au or contact Fraser Coast Regional Council for
clarification on 1300 79 49 29.
Destination Hervey Bay Grants are available to properties purchased within the designated project
area only as identified on Figure 1 attached. The Grants are available until June 2016 or a total of
583 Grants (whichever comes first).
If your application is approved you will be notified in writing within 14 business days.
Lodgement Guide
To apply Applicants must:
lodge a completed application along with all supporting documentation;
ensure each person holding a relevant interest is an applicant; and
not have previously received a Destination Hervey Bay Grant.

Supporting Evidence
Documentation from each of the following categories must be submitted with your application. Do not
send original documents. Only provide copies.
If you are unable to provide the preferred documents, please contact Fraser Coast Regional Council to
discuss your circumstances.
Category 1 - Proof of Residency
All interested Parties must be a Australian Residents. Please provide one of the following:
• Australian Drivers Licence
• Australian birth certificate/extract
• Current Australian passport
• Australian Citizenship Certificate
• Documentation from Department of Immigration & Citizenship
Note: the document must be endorsed by a Justice of the Peace.

Category 2 - Evidence of Purchase
A copy of one of the following
• Contract to Purchase land or a new house and land package - a copy of the executed contract to
purchase, dated and signed by all interested parties.
• Registration confirmation statement or current title search showing the registered owner(s).
Category 3 - Evidence of Income
A copy of one of the following
• Most recent Taxation Return & Notice of Assessment for all interested parties which includes
details of full income, marital status and dependents.
• Current Centrelink documentation which indicates gross income.
• Annual Centrelink statement or Centrelink Statement of income letter.
• Letter from the Superannuation Fund which confirms annual payments received.
Category 4 - Evidence of dependents
A copy of one of the following
• Current Centrelink documentation which indicates the number of dependents, for example
Family Tax Benefit, Child Care Benefit or Child Care Rebate.
• Current Medicare Card
Note: Additional documents may be requested after lodgement of your application in order to confirm
your eligibility for the grant. If you are unable to provide any of the documents above please contact
Council to discuss your circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria
Grants will apply to interested parties who purchase new land or new house and land packages within
designated developments (Refer Figure 1). Interested parties must demonstrate they meet the Low to
Moderate Income Earner definition and provide supporting documentation that they are eligible for the
Grant.
Low to Moderate Income Earner thresholds are identified as follows

The amount of the Grant is $12,000 per new land purchase or new house and land package.
Note: An interested party can only receive one (1) Grant during the life of this Scheme. Further a
Grant can only be applied to a registered property once during the life of this Scheme.

When will the Grant be paid?
Applying through Payment
Post Purchase Within 14 working days of receiving a complete application and all
supporting documentation. The Grant is paid to your nominated Bank
Account.
Settlement Payment will be made on date of settlement to the nominated Solicitors
Trust Account.
Note: If payment is required at Settlement the application for the Grant must be lodged a minimum of
14 days prior. Council does not take any responsibility for the settlement not proceeding if the
application is not lodged within sufficient time.
Terms used
Eligible Interested Party means the purchaser of the new land or new house and land package being the
name/s which will appear on the Title Deed. A Registered Company, Trust or the like are not eligible to apply.
Eligible Property means a property within the residential development project area as identified in Figure 1
attached.
Household means the assessable income detailed in Taxation Returns/Notice of Assessment, identified in
Centrelink or Superannuation Fund documentation for an Eligible Interested Party/s household. Tax return/s
cannot be the only method of assessing household income.
Low to Moderate Income Earner means Households with an income that are within the following upper
income limits (these income limits are indexed annually on 1 May according to the National Rental
Affordability Scheme methodology):

New to Region means interested party/s who have relocated to the Local Government Area of Fraser Coast
Regional Council in the last 6 months.
Supporting documentation means written evidence the interested party/s must provide with the application
to show that they are eligible for the Grant. This may include, but not limited to, Australian Drivers Licence,
Australian Birth Certificate/extract, current Australian passport, Australian Citizenship Certificate,
documentation from Department of Immigration & Citizenship, Taxation Returns & Notice of Assessment to
establish assessable income, current Centrelink documentation, Superannuation Fund documentation,
contract to purchase, copy of the registration confirmation statement or current title search showing the
registered owner(s), etc whichever is applicable to the household type.
