What is a Course Catalog? The Course

Catalog lists all the courses offered at LSSU.

You need to use the Course Catalog to choose your classes each semester.

“Degree Requirements” provides an overview of how many credit hours are needed for different degrees. A typical class is

usually worth 3-4 credit hours.

“General Education Requirements” will list classes like English or Math that you will need to take in addition to

the classes you will take in your actual field of study.

To view the requirements for a specific bachelor’s degree, click on the program that interests you. This will give you an overview of everything required for that degree:

the number of required credit hours,

the actual required classes you need to take,

and short descriptions for each of those classes.

On the “Course Descriptions” page, you will see a list of abbreviations and course categories. For example, ENGL is the link to view all English courses, BIOL is the

link to view all Biology courses, and so on.

Click on a link to see detailed descriptions of each course

offered in that category.

of the course.

The credit hours earned for the course.

Details explaining the focus and the requirements for the course.
