Lunar Theme Parks

In Maths Investigations class 6.1 have been designing Lunar Theme Parks.

We have worked in groups to design the parks.

We had to consider and agree the cost of each ride and service when spending our budget.

We had to find our total income by multiplying our gate fee with the total number of customers each day and adding on income from shops and cafes.

We used calculators to calculate our income and deduct our costs. We needed to input digits accurately and check our work.

We calculated our profit by subtracting the daily costs for running the park from our daily income.

We had to work as a team to complete the task on time.

What the children said:

“It’s a good way to learn about business” – Ella Duggan.

“It’s a good way to prepare for the jobs we might perform in the future” – Rebecca Weber “and we all find it fun!”

“It’ a good way to solve problems involving money ,” - Rupert Armstrong.
