Current School Project
East Somerville Community School
School Experience
• Full building condition evaluation• Completed renovation in 26 classrooms• Accelerated design schedule and
phased construction • New academic wing was completed first
and then occupied• Contractor then could access remainder
of building / site• Construction completed in 18 months
with no disruption to school schedule

school to create a new high school complex
Ponaganset Middle SchoolFoster-Glocester, RI
School Experience
• Prepared plans for conversion of 40-year-old high school to middle school
• Worked with Bldg Committee to define scope and keep within target budget
• Conducted conditions assessment and developed associated cost estimates
• Identified construction that could be reduced/eliminated and incorporated code-related accessibility requirements
• Phased planning/construction allowed relocation of classes / minimal disruption to school schedule
Bellingham Middle School Conversion
Bellingham, MA
School Experience
• Fast-track, 7-month Design-Build project due to the projected demand on the school system and the need for many new classrooms
• Design of this $9M project started in February
• Accelerated effort on Maguire’s part and a close working relationship with the contractor resulted in construction completed by Labor Day
B. Jae Clanton Design-BuildProvidence, RI
School Experience
Design included:
• Many energy efficient elements, including high-efficiency boilers
• Instead of conventional classroom unit ventilators, fan-coil units were selected with no outside air feature
• Central fresh air system: a single heating / cooling unit provided conditioned air to all occupied areas
• A 2-pipe changeover system was selected and served by high-efficiency boilers and a 200-ton air cooled chiller
• All controls were DDC-based
