Whenever a flood occurs you should head for higher ground and stay away flood. If you come upon flood, stop, turn around and go another way. Even six inches of swiftly moving water can knock you off your feet. Many people are swept away wading through flood, never try to walk, swim or play in flood. You may not be able to see on the surface how fast the flood is moving or see holes and submerged debris. If your vehicle becomes surrounded by flood, try to get out and move to higher ground. Vehicles can be swept away in two feet of water.
