Excessive Weight Disabilities

• Health problems and diseases linked to or resulting directly from long-term overweight or obesity

• Breathing difficulties• Sleep Apnea is a

condition in which a person stops breathing during sleep, due to obstructed or reduced air passages

• Bone and Joint problems

Impaired Glucose Tolerance

• Disorder in which blood glucose levels are elevated

• Type 2 Diabetes

• Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that converts sugar into energy

Body Mass Index (BMI)

• Healthy Range is between 5th and 85th percentile

• Overweight is above 85th percentile

• Underweight is below 5th percentile

Fad Diets

• Weight Loss plans that are popular for a short time

Diet Pills

• Diet pills may control appetite, but can have very serious side effects

• Drowsiness, nervousness, anxiety, or addiction

• “All-Natural” does not mean safe
