C11 in MBS East has been converted to a new group study room which all MBS UG students can book via the Undergraduate Office in MBS East Room D20

REMINDERS FOR YOUR DEGREE WEIGHTINGS

For IM and IMABS programmes, the weightings are:

• Year 1: Zero• Year 2: 25%• Year 3 Zero• Year 4: 75%

The third year (abroad) is graded pass/fail and is not included in the final degree classification

IM Students: Year Two Modules

• Students must pass the second year to proceed to the year abroad – this includes any courses carried forward from the first year!

• Students take International Business Strategy: Contexts, Concepts and Skills (20 credits) as well as a further 20 credits of designated international options.

• Availability of options changes from year to year and pre-requisites/co-requisites apply.

• You choose additional management courses to make up 120 credits for the year.

• It is important that you achieve good grades during your first two years. In particular, passing the first year is essential and your performance may be taken into account during the allocation process.

• You also continue with your Personal Development Plan.

IMABS Students: Year Two Modules

• Students take American Society and Economy (20 credits) which covers the economic, financial and legal systems of North America, and also includes business and labour history.

• You also take a further 20 credits of designated international courses.

• You choose additional management courses to make up 120 credits for the year.

• Availability of options changes from year to year and pre-requisites/co-requisites apply.

• It is important that you achieve good grades during your first two years. In particular, passing the first year is essential and your performance may be taken into account during the allocation process.

• You also continue with your Personal Development Plan.

• Importance of attendance at classes and engagement with studies including preparation for lectures and interacting at seminars

• It is essential that all students attend the following meetings in preparation for their year abroad and that IMABS return for the International Fair at 3.30 pm on 17 October

• Wednesday 17 October• IMABS – 1.00 – 2.00 pm – B10• IM – 2.00 - 3.30 – B10 • International Fair – MBS Atrium – 3.30 – 5.00 pm• The Fair is an opportunity to meet Final Year MBS students who have been on exchange and incoming

exchange students from exchange partner institutions • Wednesday 6 March• IMABS – 1.00 pm B3• IM – 1.00 pm B10• This is an opportunity to talk to students who have been to the destination you will be going to and to

REMINDERS• E-bulletin - The e-Bulletin will serve as our way of

communicating relevant and important information to you and through it MBS responds to any feedback received from you. Please make sure that you read this fortnightly publication which will be sent to you via your university email address

• Christmas Social Event - Keep your eyes (and ears) open for the big Christmas social event! Last year the event was held in Hard Rock Café and a fun time was had by all. Further information to follow in the e-Bulletin
