St. Martin’s Music Ministry presents a
Christmas Concert Everlasting Light the Promise of Christmas
Please join us in celebrating the birth of our Lord, Friday, December 20 at
8:00 pm in the Church. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
Light is synonymous with the Christmas season. As we again look upon the deco-rated homes and trees, we see symbols of hope that light will battle darkness,
heal, and restore. It is only light that can counter that darkness. The lights on
homes and trees are eventually taken down and packed away until next year,
but the meaning of those lights lasts throughout the year. The birth of one
Child brought a light that does not fade; a light that was desperately needed in a world of darkness, pain, and loss. A light
that would live on eternally… an Everlasting Light.
40 Hour Adoration in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, is December 12. To prepare for this great Feast, Father Sy is establishing special intentions during the 40 hours preceding Our Lady’s Feast Day. Starting December 10 after the 8:00 am Mass to Midnight of December 11, adoration will be on the main altar. We are seeking at least 12 adorers to represent the twelve Apostles at each hour. The three intentions we pray for during these 40 hours are: the end of abortions, the conversion of our children, and our nation. Please sign-up for one hour after Mass this weekend.
Prayer During 40 Holy Hours Leader: Fairest Lady of Guadalupe, you appeared on the hills of Tepeyac as a mother bearing a child in her womb. All: Fill the hearts of all mothers with a merciful love for the preborn children they car-ry, that none would be thought of as unwanted no matter how painful and undesirable the circumstances may be. Stay the hands of the abortionists, and enlighten their minds that they may no longer serve death but life. We pray that you intercede for an end to the horror of abortions in our life. Leader: Sweetest Lady of Guadalupe, you lovingly arranged the miraculous roses in the tilma of the lowly St. Juan Diego. All: Help put back in order our children and grandchildren, the roses of our lives, that they may leave the errors of this world and return to the Catholic faith. Pull them out of the grasp of the evil one and deliver them into the saving arms of your Son, Jesus. We pray that you intercede for the conversion of hearts of our children and grandchildren. Leader: Dearest Lady of Guadalupe, you are the Patroness of our continent. All: Bless and guide the leaders of the United States of America, our beloved country. Clear the cobwebs of hatred among politicians and strengthen their resolve to uphold the dignity of each citizen. We pray that you intercede for us that we may be renewed once more as one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all. Amen.

The Bethlehem Christian Families (The Holy Land) December 7 & 8, 2019, the Bethlehem Christian families are here to sell their hand carved religious articles made of olive wood. The sale of these precious articles supports their Church Mission which is to maintain the roots and the existence of the Christian families who are struggling to remain in Bethlehem. At least ninety percent of the funds raised through these sales go directly to Christians living in the Bethlehem area. The proceeds will create more work which will help them to survive and stay in the Holy Land since they have no other source of income and are dependent on the olive wood industry. Thank you for your support and generosity.

All young adults ages 18 - 39 are invited to check out InterParish Young Adult Fellowship, a new young adult ministry that meets at St. Martin's, with the purpose of studying and training for mission and outreach to our young adult friends who may be far from Jesus and His Church. Do you have young adult friends who have fallen away from the Catholic faith, or who have never had a relationship with Jesus and the Church? Would you like to learn what the Magisterium of our Church, the saints, and the Scriptures have
to say about the call to missionary activity, including our own Diocese's recent focus on the priority of evangelization? If so, you are welcome to come and check out InterParish any time. We meet the first three Thursdays of the month, and have a special event on the fourth Fridays of the month. Check the parish calendar on the St. Martin's website for updated meeting locations, and email us at interparish@outlook.com to get on our emailing list with weekly updates.
