Matthew 4:18-20

Matthew 4:18-20

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,

he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and

his brother Andrew.

They were casting a net into the lake, for they

were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’ At

once they left their nets and followed him.

John 21:19-22

John 21:19-22Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which

Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him,

“Follow me!” 20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom

John 21:19-22Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one

who had leaned back against Jesus at the

supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to

betray you?”)

John 21:19-2221 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” 22 Jesus

answered,  “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to

you? You follow me.”

Jesus asks every one of us to follow Him.

What does it mean to follow

Jesus?

What does it mean to follow

Jesus?We are going with Jesus.

We are going with Jesus.

We need to focus on Jesus, not other people

or other stuff.

(You) Follow me.

John 21:22

You - Me - Follow

We are going with Jesus.

We can be sure that we will never be alone.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that

nothing can ever separate us from his love.

Death cannot. Life cannot. Angels cannot,

and all the powers of hell itself

Romans 8:38-39 cannot keep God’s love

away. Our fears for today, our worries about

tomorrow, or where ever we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest

Romans 8:38-39 ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our

Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.

What does it mean to follow

Jesus? We are going on a journey.

We are going on a journey.

- We can’t stay where we are.

We are going on a journey.

- We won’t have a map. We have a

guide.
