This lesson will look at three of the men who helped create our nation.

Collectively these men are known as the “Founding Fathers.”

George Washington

Second Son of a prominent Virginia Planter

Self educated – Only completed the equivalent of eighth grade

Surveyor – Spent a large amount of time marking properties inWestern Virginia and the “Ohio Territory”

Promoted to Colonel during the French and Indian (Seven Years) War.

Took command when General Braddock is killed.

Resigns when deigned a Regular Army commission.
