Roots and Shoots Roots and Shoots provides training for young people
from inner London. We aim to give them the skills
and self-confidence that will equip them for work.
Alongside this training we involve local schools and
the wider community by maintaining our site as an
important green space and environmental resource.
Income generated from venue hire is reinvested
back into Roots and Shoots to support our charity
Our well-equipped conference hall and smaller meeting
rooms are available to hire. Located in Central London,
just south of the river, Roots and Shoots is an ideal
location for organisations looking for affordable spaces to
host conferences, lectures and meetings. You will be
able to enjoy our eco building and take time out mid
schedule to relax in our wonderful gardens.
We provide in-house catering for a wide range of events.
Teas, coffees, affordable lunches and buffets are just some
of services provided by our talented chef and catering staff.
We combine professionalism and efficiency with friendli-
ness and flexibility, that will make you want to come back to
relive your experience.

Each meeting room space is fitted with a digital
projector, speakers and screen.
Our newly refurbished rooms are ideal for those
who prefer comfort and décor.
The two meeting rooms are located close to the
hall, in the reconditioned 19th-century building.
They are often used in conjunction with the
main hall as light, pleasant break-out spaces.
Enjoy access to our hi-speed Wi-Fi.
Ideal for conferences, training sessions, business events,
corporate seminars, away days, special functions & much more.
The hall is fitted with a 66inch plasma screen, PA and loop
systems and access to Wi-Fi.

Our award winning Wildlife Garden at Roots and Shoots
can be arranged for guided tours and/or sessions on
Wildlife in the City. The garden has an apiary with an
observation hive – visits to the hives and talks about
bees and honey can be arranged in the summer
months.

Booking the Rooms
All bookings must include set up and breakdown time. A full day is an 8-hour period, usually 9am to 5pm. A half day
is a 4-hour period 9am - 1pm, 1pm - 5pm. Additional hours are added at the hourly rate.
Evening bookings 5pm - 10pm & weekend bookings 9am - 9pm will be charged evening rate.
All bookings will be treated as provisional until a booking form, duly signed by the hirer is returned to R&S. Once received
and accepted the booking is under contract.
The hired room will be opened and closed by either by a member of staff, please ensure that your staff or guests are
aware of the hire period and that they will not be able to enter before or leave after the agreed hire period.
The Hirer must arrive and vacate by the agreed time, as stated on the Booking Form. Failure to adhere to the agreed
times may incur additional charges. If this occurs the Venue will charge additional charges to the Hirer accordingly. Book-
ings which continue beyond these times will incur additional hire charges which will equate to 15% of the half day rate per
half-hour.
All bookings must provide the name, address, telephone number or email address of the person responsible for the book-
ing as well as the name of the facilitator for the meeting.
The hirer is not permitted to bring in external catering services or food/drink onto the premises for consumption. Please
note that it is our policy that food left over from any function cannot be removed from the premises. This is in compliance
with the Food Safety Temperature Control Act 1995.
Room set-up is the responsibility of the Hirer. Venues support can be given if approved in advance and in the style
agreed. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to return meeting room spaces to its original format, failure to do so may result
in charge.
The maximum room capacity permitted may reduce dependent on your additional requirements and layout in the room.

Conditions of hire Thank you for choosing Roots and Shoots (“R&S”). Your booking constitutes a formal agreement to hire venue
facilities on these terms and conditions. The ‘hirer’ means the organisation/individual in whose name the booking
is made. The hirer shall be jointly and severally liable for payment of the event. The ‘contract’ means the agree-
ment between the R&S and hirer for a specific booking or series of bookings. These Terms and Conditions will
form part of the contract, together with any other terms stated in the contract documentation.

Cancellation: A minimum of 2 week’s notice is required for cancellations, otherwise charges will be incurred:
1st week 50%, 2nd week 75%, on day Full Charge.
Payment
Invoices are sent at the end of the month following the meeting. Payment will be by means of cheques payable to Roots
and Shoots Ltd or BACS account transfer, details as stated on invoice.
