on a not for profit basis and whose aim is i) the relief of poverty, ii) the advancement of education; iii) the advancement of social and community welfare, iv) the advancement of culture, or v) the advancement of the natural environment

Academic Select

Academic Select

• Three year volume licensing agreement

• For institutions with more than 250 desktops

• Purchase perpetual licences

• Products split into three pools: Applications, Systems and Servers – 1500 points per pool

• Select media sent to customer

• Can be used in conjunction with annual licensing agreements for additional product requirements

Academic Select Process

• Customer signs Master agreement and enrolments under that Master

• Sold through EdLars and Lars only

• Purchase either Licence only or Licence + Software Assurance

Student Select

• Perpetual student licences available for Microsoft® Office 2003 Standard/Professional and Microsoft® Windows® XP upgrade

• Institution must have Select 6.0 agreementin place

• Student addendum is signed as part of the Select 6.0 master

• Minimum 750 points across product pools

• Higher and Further Education students only

• Two year licence agreement

• Purchase perpetual licences

• Minimum initial order level of five licences

• Re-order level of one licence

• Can be used in conjunction with annual licensing agreements for additional licensing requirements

• No paperwork needs to be signed – terms and conditions are accepted first time customer activates licence

• Sold through distribution/AER channel

• No media pack – media purchased separately as required

• Office 2003 Standard includes:

• Microsoft® Word 2003

• Microsoft® Excel 2003

• Microsoft® Outlook® 2003

• Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2003 PLUS:

• Content CD - 24,000 premium images, animations, and sounds to help enhance documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and Web pages.

• Step by Step Guide - Quickly learn how to use the suite of Office XP programs at your own pace. Build the skills needed and practice with real-world examples.

Purchase Qualifiers

• ONLY a qualifying student (a defined term), parent/guardian or teacher may buy this product – the programme is not open to anyone else.

• “Student”: Must be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis in a school, college or university, which is recognised by the applicable government agency.

• “Parent/Guardian”: Have children in the above category and wish to purchase on their behalf for their educational use.

• “Teacher”: Employed full-time or part-time to teach within anysuch school, college or university as above.

Student/Teacher Licence Process

• Sold through retail stores and AER’s

• Once the customer is no longer eligible for licence it becomes a perpetual licence

• The licence can be loaded on up to three PC’s within the eligible customers home

School Subscription

School Agreement Overview

• Primary and Secondary Schools

• Customer can choose 1 or 3 year agreement

• Price protection over three years

• Licensed to run any version including upgrades and downgrades

• Sold through Authorised Education Resellers

School Agreement Details

• Choice of desktop products and also servers

• 15% discount on the primary product platform

• Student option

• Flexible buy out

• Welcome pack of media (Office and Windows upgrade only – if these products have been chosen)

Steps for School Subscription

• Count number of eligible PC’s

• Choose products from product list

• Count number of students (if required)

• Choose products from product list

• Choose server products and multiply by number of servers to deploy these on

• Multiply number of PC’s by number of products and number of servers by point count per server

= unit count

Eligible PC Count

• All of the following must be included in the PC count: Pentiums, PowerMacs, iMacs

• The customer can choose to count any number of 286’s, 386’s and 486’s

Student Option

• For student owned laptop/PC

• 100 unit minimum requirement in addition to minimum requirement for institution

• Licence specific number of students instead of entire population

• Institution responsible for management and control

• Perpetual usage rights via buy-out

• Must have School agreement in place

Work at Home Rights

• For staff for work-related purposes ONLY

• Customer elects desktop products they want to have WAH rights for

• excludes SQL CALs, Class Server SAL, TS CALs, MS Press titles and Magic School Bus

• Use at home extended to include pupils using institution-owned laptops

• This is FOC

Flexible Buy-out Option

• No need to convert all Windows, Office Pro and Core CAL licences to perpetual licences

• May acquire perpetual licences for products and quantities desired

• Also completes the School Subscription document which lists all their purchase requirements

• Needs to be sent via email to distributor for processing
