The final touch.

The best hardware needs the right software, and the

ArtixScan 2500f gives you both. Incredible optics,

E.D.I.T. and amazing transfer rates are all

supplemented by powerful scanning, color

management and scaling software.

Microtek® ScanWizard™ Pro with integrated Kodak

Digital Science™ color management is an advanced

scanner controller, designed to provide powerful

professional-level features through an intuitive and

versatile interface. ScanWizard Pro provides fast and

easy batch scanning through the Scan Job Window.

This dynamic tool allows you to lay out multiple scan

jobs while making individual adjustments as needed.

The Microtek Scanner ICC Profiler calibration utility

works with ScanWizard Pro to ensure accurate color

reproduction across monitors, printers and the Web.

Also bundled is LaserSoft® SilverFast® Ai 6—the

choice of many professional photographers for its

user-friendly interface and advanced options. New

features include SRD® which eliminates dust and

scratches, GANE® for reducing film grain, and ACR to

automatically restore faded colors. These are just

some of the new features in addition to NegaFix™,

which includes over 120 film profiles for real-time

negative film optimization.

LizardTech™ Genuine Fractals™

PrintPro™ offers virtually lossless

compression and amazing 800%

scaling with no loss in quality for

truly superior enlargements.

Seeing clearly.

Every imaging

professional knows that

the chances for optical

distortion increase as light

passes through more layers of

glass. We kept this in mind while

creating our patented Emulsion

Direct Imaging Technology

(E.D.I.T.). Microtek’s E.D.I.T. scanners are built with a

unique lower bay which allows the CCD to directly read

the emulsion side of film without any obstructions in

between. This innovative technology, also known as

"glassless scanning", effectively eliminates any of the

problems associated with normal glass transparency

scanning such as Newton Rings and surface

imperfections. The end result is superbly clear images

with more accurate color values. E.D.I.T.—an example

of Microtek’s vision for continually improving the quality

of desktop digital imaging.

It’s a snap.

The ArtixScan 2500f includes SnapTrans Film

Templates in four conventional transparent media

sizes—35mm filmstrip, 35mm mounted slide or super

slide, medium-format and 4" x 5". These templates are

used in conjunction with the main staging tray for

emulsion direct scanning. For greater versatility, an 8" x

12" anti-Newton Ring holder is included for scanning

various film sizes. With E.D.I.T. and the SnapTrans Film

Templates you can scan your film with confidence.

Made for medium format.

You asked, we listened. The new adjustable medium-

format SnapTrans™ Film Template is now

included! Just snap the cross bar

into one of the five different

options and you’re ready for

glassless film scanning.

ArtixScan® 2500f, built tight as a drum.

Constructed with a generous 8" x14" upper bed for

reflective media and a lower bay for film scanning, the

ArtixScan 2500f continues to redefine the standard for

professional flatbed scanners. This solid and versatile

dual-bed scanner boasts up to 2500 dpi optical

resolution and a 4.4 maximum optical density for

precision scanning. At the heart of the scanner is a

10,000-element tri-linear Kodak CCD and the highest

quality optics. These vital components are

temperature controlled and balanced against outside

factors in order to deliver optimal quality in every

scan. Built to exacting standards, the ArtixScan 2500f

is the production workhorse you’ve been looking for.

The images on this

spread were scanned on a

Microtek ArtixScan scanner.

20 years of engineering excellence.

With continual use, most scanners’ optics will

overheat and cause image quality to degrade.

Microtek developed the solution by using Flomerics’

FLOTHERM™, the world’s leading thermal analysis

software, to create the CCD Cooling System (patent

pending) which maintains the CCD at its optimum

temperature. As a result, every scan performed by

the ArtixScan 2500f delivers optimal color fidelity and

sharpness. In addition, each ArtixScan 2500f is

engineered with a patented 3D Anti-Vibration System

that minimizes any external vibrations detrimental to

the scan, delivering a reliably clear and correctly

focused image.

Double your resolution.

The versatile ArtixScan 2500f is outfitted with dual-lens

technology to match your workflow needs. The entire

scan bed is equipped with a precision 1250 dpi lens for

greater work productivity and batch scanning. A high

resolution lens also offers 2500 dpi along a 4 inch band

running the length of the scan bed.
