Establishment of MARnet MARnet (Macedonian Academic and Research
Network) was established in year 1994 as an organizational unit of the Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje by auspices of the Ministry of research of R. Macedonia.
MARnet transformation With the publishing of the new law on 20.09.2010 in
the Offical gazette of R.M. No.124 and it’s enforcement on 01.01.2011, the Macedonian Academic and Research Network is transformed into a public institution which carries out activities of public interest responsible for development, organization and management of the unique educational and research telecommunication network in Macedonia.

Management of MARnet The management of MARnet is carried out by the Steering
Board. Board members are appointed and dismissed by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
Steering board members Consisted of seven members for a mandate of four years
and can be re-elected. One member is appointed by proposal of the Minister of Education, one member by proposal of the Minister of Information Society and Administration and 5 members one from each state university
President The Steering Board has a president who is elected by the
members of the Board.
