Missouri River Agriculture Reservoirs

Farming Land

Should the Reservoirs be raised?

• Yes, the Missouri River reservoirs should be raised for many reason.

• Flooding• Seep water• And many other reasons

Flooding

• Ruins equipment• Destroys crops• Erases top soil• Income gets cut• The layout of the land changes• Levee’s break

Floods ruining farm equipment

• Farm equipment is important for farmers. If the equipment gets ruined by flood waters the farmers are not just down in crop money but are also down in equipment.

Crops being destroyed

• When crops are destroyed the farmers lose money and it makes the prices go up.

Top soil being erased

• When the top soil disappears it causes crops not to be able to grow there anymore.

Income gets cut

• When income is lost the farmers don’t make any money, making it hard for them to replace equipment and replant crops that were lost.

Layout of land changes

• When any river floods it’s a problem. It’s a problem because it changes the layout of the land. When the layout of the land is changed it causes farmers fields to flood and not be able to farm.

Broken Levees

• As the water rises from the flooding river it causes the levees to become weak and they break. Levees breaking is a major problem because it causes towns and fields to flood more easily.

Seep Water

• Seep water ruins thousands of crops every year. Seep water happens when water seeps under the levee ,through the soil , and drowns the crop.
