Dan is the Founder & Managing Partner of Mitre Peak Capital. Dan has over a decade of private equity investing experience in lower middle-market companies. During that time, Dan has partnered with family-owned businesses and management teams, grown companies through industry consolidation, led geographic and product expansion initiatives, divested non-core divisions of portfolio companies, and completed numerous dividend recapitalizations and successful majority realizations.
Prior to founding Mitre Peak Capital, Dan was a Managing Director at Trive Capital, a Dallas-based private equity firm with $2 billion in assets under management. While at Trive, Dan sourced, executed, and managed investments across a variety of industries.
Prior to joining Trive, Dan was a Vice President at Insight Equity, a Dallas, TX area private equity firm with over $850 million in assets under management. While at Insight, Dan sourced, executed, and managed investments in the Aerospace & Defense and Specialty Electronics industries, and was also involved in deal execution and operations for investments across a variety of industries including Automotive, Consumer Products, Industrial Services, and Logistics.
Before joining Insight, Dan was an Associate at Arcapita, a global private equity firm with approximately $8 billion in assets under management. While at Arcapita, Dan was responsible for originating, evaluating, and executing growth equity investments as well as partnering with portfolio companies to provide strategic and operational support. Prior to Arcapita, Dan was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and a Business Analyst in Accenture’s Strategy Consulting Practice. Dan also served as an active duty officer in the United States Air Force.
Dan received an MBA from Harvard Business School. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the United States Air Force Academy with a BS in Management and received the Distinguished Management Major Award.
