Materials:

• White Gesso

• Gel Medium Heavy

• Modelling/ Texture Paste White

• Acrylic paste – gold

• Distress reinker – „Wild honey”

• Acrylic Paint Dabber „Stream”

• Glimmer Mists Tattered Angels – „Tattered Leather”, „Moonlight” „Aquamarine”

• Distress Stain Brushed Corduroy

• StazOn Ink Azure

• Bubble foil

• Distress Marker dye ink, white gel pen

• Brush, water

• Embellishments: i.e. scraps of paper, remains of lace. I used also: beads, dried oranges, chippies leftovers, jewellery parts and other "rubbish"

2

Creating first layer

• Take a cardboard paper 12x12 inch

• Paint it in the centre with gesso, then splash it a little with ink (I used Distress reinker)

• Using a wide brush, coat the page thoroughly with gel medium – quite thick

• Next stick different embellishments into gel medium, as shown at the photo. You can use scrapbooking products, but I just love to attach recycled materials: find any scraps, remains, leftovers after previous project – anything goes:)

Creating first layer - details

4

Adding more texture

Using gel medium, stick some more paper scraps (i.e. from newspaper or old book). You can also put a layer of gel medium on the top. You can do it with a brush or with your fingers (I prefer to paint with my fingers)

5

Adding ekstra texture with gesso

Use a bubble foil and some gesso to add some more texture here and there – on the paper and also on the embelishments.

6

Adding colors

First I used blue paint.

I used acrylic paint dabber, but you can use any paint. Color some embellishments a bit. You can see I add a little color on dried oranges, laces, the flower and gauze.

7

Adding color Now we will add some color and texture using Acrylic gold paste. I just paint it with my fingers here and there.

8

Adding color

It’s time to have more fun! Let’s add some color using glimmer mists. I used three colors: Tattered Leather, Aquamarine and Moonlight (I mixed two shades of blue on the page to achive the shade I wanted).

9

More texture and colors Using modeling paste and fingers I added some more texture.

10

More texture and colors

Sprinkle glimmer mists on the top of modeling paste while it’s still wet. You can even work with it using your fingers to mix colors.

11

Working on details

To lighten dark colors I added some extra gesso with my fingers here and there and mixed some gesso with gold paste.

12

Adding photo

Now it’s time to add a photo. As the background is quite rich, I’ve chosen black and white photo. I placed it in the centre (I left a spot there).

13

Adding ekstra color and details

As I was working on the page using specifc palette (The Color Room Palette #125), I had to add some ekstra color. I made few splashes and colored photo edges a bit.

14

Adding ekstra color and details

I draw some details with white gel pen and Distress Marker. I also added a frame, flowers (colored with Distress Stain) and more beads.

15

Adding ekstra color and details

Then I made few circles (whole or not) using Stazon Ink and little plastic cup.

16

Finishing the page

As a final touch I added some ekstra blue mist and the title.

17

The page is complete. Now the page is ready. You can play as long as you like, adding colors, texture and working with details.

I hope this tutorial will encourage you to play with media. Have fun!

Best regards,

Ayeeda
