and if driver training should be considered for some of your drivers.

Put a procedure in place to check your drivers driving licences at least

Make your drivers (including the MD)sign a medical declaration

confirming they are fit to drive

Put a procedure in place to ensure your drivers perform a

safety check on their vehicles at least once a month.

Safety checks should include tyres (pressures and tread depth),

lights, bodywork windscreens service intervals etc.

Put a procedure in place to ensure your drivers are aware of how to

manage their vehicles, how to arrange servicing, and what to do in case of

breakdowns etc.

Make sure your drivers are aware of the risks associated with driving, and how to

plan their journeys considering the environment, and direct costs to your company.

Ensure your Corporate Health and Safety Policy is reflected in your Company Car Drivers Handbook

Such Issues as mobile phones, driver risk awareness, and drink, drug related

driving offences should be included

Make sure that all your drivers (including the MD) receive a copy
