• 85 members including • 21 professors and • major top 5 worldwide GeoIT Provider
• Main goal: exchange of technology and domain business knowledge
• Yearly full day GeoIT Wherecamp conference in November: 14.11.2019
• Four evening events GeoIT Talks
GeoIT Wherecamp 2018 with Mi8 live experiment
From read to write: groundediting
• 1.) Flash back into IT/GeoIT history to grasp current ongoing technology
• 2.) Simple approach “map as you go”
• 3.1.) Refine existing (e.g. OSM) Ways “just” by selecting and walking
• 3.2.) Mobile Editor in OSM: Vespucci on Android and Go Map on iOS
• 3.3.) Experiments to implement the tracking function direct as an editing functions in Vespucci for “map as you go”
• 4.) What do you think? Discussion

It is possible to “write” into the web infrastructure“User generated content”

Groundediting: map as you walk• An old idea comes true again ?!?
Detection (and capturing) of spatial details• A parking slot is blocked by to barriers due to a special underground access: captured!
Capturing of spatial-temporal details
• Temporal ( e.g. 3 months) changes, e.g. construction side• Workers can also capture the spatial extent without deeper knowledge !?
Capturing for Autodrive Maps (HD Maps)
• Curb stones are very relevant for autonomous driving, Crowd capturing for the start?
Capturing experiment: OSM Vespucci
• Implementation of track functions direct into editing function• More testing required, also alignment and rectangle functions will be required

From read to write: groundediting
• From read to write: many application cases where chalk is used, e.g.• Building sites• Markets• ….
• “Map as you go”
• Refinement of existing data, by• Selecting existing line (e.g. OSM Way)• Refine by map as you go
• Experimental implementation with OSM Vespucci
• What is your thought about read to write? (remember web 2.0 created giants like Facebook, Wikipedia and Youtube)
Invitation to GeoIT Wherecamp 2019• 14.11.2019: Give a talk about Android GNSS raw data Apps!• http://wherecamp2019.geoit.org
Discussion about Mobile 2.0 from read to write
• What is your opinion?
• Which analogue solutions can be digitalized?
