The shopping center is connected to the two main roads in the city center. The large parking lot in front of the building signals the popularity of the shopping center and that many of the visitors arrives by car. The withdrawn space outside the main entrance creates a space for pedestriance to circulate.

The interior is quite closed, with few outlooks once inside, whereas the main entrance has a transparent glass facade.

The old municipality building is situated right by a broad road, the stairs leading to the sidewalk.

There is a fence that runs along the sidewalk, on the left side of the building, separating the backyard from the street. The entrance is opening up wheras the backyard is more private. The ground floor and the first floor has windows facing the street but the top floor only has windows on the short side of the building.

A small road leads from the big road next to the field all the way op tp the house on the field.

The garden works as a border, surrounding the house with a frame of bushes that separates the private space from the open field. The short side of the house closest to the field has a fence made up by poles and trees with an opening in it.

There are windows on all four sides of the building.

The long sides of the building are closed, leading towards the entrance, guiding the way.The volume of the building opens up at the main entrance, welcoming the visitor. The roof above the entrance slopes down, bowing down and meeting the visitor at a human scale. The glass facade reveals the entrance, displaying the inside before you enter.

The entrance is hidden from the road that leads to the house. You enter through the opening in the fence, walk around the long side of the building and enter on the short side. Since the door isn’t visible from where you enter the garden, you have to know wether to move straight forward or turn right. The entrance to this building signals you have to be invited to, or know the building, before entering the area.

The distance between the road and the house, and the long path leading to it, gives the persons in the house an advantage since they can see the visitor from a far distance but aren’t visible themself.

entering the building

The entrance is directly connected to the street, there is no border between the public street and the building. Although, there is no sign telling whats on the inside. You should know what you’re doing there when you enter.

The small roof hovering over the landing, lifted up by pillars, and the semicircle shaped stairs leading to the elevated entrance, amplifys the action of visiting the building. Theese elements makes the entering an event. Rised over the street level, the visitor is visible from a greater distance. The landing that connects the two stairs opens up for an even longer entering procedure.
