Why modernize Member/Committee Data?

Current data is Not in one central collection available for

distribution Missing a number of data elements, such

as swearing in date/time temporal (time) data

Not all elements are available in machine-readable format

Project Goals3

The Member and Committee Modernization Project seeks to improve how House member and committee data is maintained, used, and distributed across the House, within the Legislative Branch, and to the public.

Name information and unique id Current State/District; Previous State/District Phone number(s) Website Election date Swearing date/time Leadership positions Seniority
