Thank you for your support of our first Chick-fil-A fundraisers for the year. It is obvious that our families
LOVE Chick-fil-A!! Our profits from the calendar sales are a whopping $984 which will be put in our tuition
assistance fund and we will also be adding the Spirit Night proceeds to that when we receive that check. Thank
you so much for loving CFA and helping us earn some money for tuition assistance.
Recycling & Rebate programs – Don’t forget that we collect the following items and turn them in for rebates:
o General Mills Box Tops can be turned in at the front office or in the collection bin near the entry doors.
o The green and yellow Abitibi Paper Retriever bin in the corner of the teacher parking lot is for paper recycling. You may turn in your old catalogs, magazines, newspapers, office papers, envelopes, school
papers, workbooks and paperback books. Shredded papers are acceptable, but please bag the shreds
before putting them in the Retriever bin. Do not put any plastic, cardboard or trash in the recycling bin.
o Aluminum cans may be bagged and turned in on Friday mornings by the storage building next to the
handicap ramp.
Sorry, but we are no longer accepting printer cartridges or Campbell’s soup labels.
Santa Pops – The MSCS Student Council is selling Santa Pops again this year. A blue printed flyer (order form)
was sent home yesterday concerning the sale of Santa Pops, but there was a mistake on pricing. Santa Pops are $1 each or 6 for $5. Please see the order form attached for more details. Don’t miss out on these fun treats!
MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Monsignor Slade Catholic School is to promote Catholic faith and intellectual development in our students. We do this by
teaching about and modeling the precepts of the Catholic faith, as well as challenging our students with a rigorous course of study. We do this so that they will use their faith, knowledge, and skills to shape their futures positively and work for the benefit of the whole society.

Please take a moment to come into school to see the Christmas Giving Tree. Once again, the Home and
School Association (HASA) is sponsoring this tree, filled with ornaments that contain wish lists from the teachers. The tree makes gift-giving so easy. Simply take an ornament off the tree, fill the request, and send the
gift in with your child to give to their teacher. The Slade community's generosity in supporting and enhancing our
children's learning experience is always appreciated by our wonderful teachers. Merry Christmas to all!

Volunteers for Christmas at Slade: Volunteers are still needed to work for our annual Christmas at Slade event
on Sunday, December 10th. Satisfy your service hours and support this great community-building event. All
volunteers must be VIRTUS/STAND-compliant. If you are interested, you can sign up through SignUp Genius
at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d4faba729a0fb6-christmas. Please contact Martha Sidlowski
at sidlow@verizon.net with any questions about the event, or Amy Holstege at amy@loralee.net with questions
about volunteering.
Sports Section:
The Athletic Council has two positions, Secretary and Medkit Coordinator, which will be open for election to
serve for terms beginning with the 2018-19 school year. These positions are being posted well-in-advance to
allow sufficient time for elections and training prior to the end of this school year when the current terms expire.
You do not need to have a child enrolled in a sports program to serve on the Athletic Council, and it’s a great way
to fulfill service hours while promoting a valuable program for our students to participate in recreational
sports. Attached you will find detailed information regarding these positions and instructions for submitting your
letter of intent. If you are interested in either of these positions, kindly submit your letter of intent via kidmail or
email (sladeacsecretary@gmail.com) by December 31, 2017. Elections will be held in the first quarter of 2018.

Monsignor Slade Catholic School
“Spirit of Slade” “Spirit of Slade” “Spirit of Slade” Referral Program
Monsignor Slade Catholic School is excited to announce a Family Referral Program, “Spirit of Slade,”
that will apply toward the 2018-2019 school year. Please consider sharing the opportunity to be en-
riched by the “Spirit of Slade” and this community with other families. Our parents and current stu-
dents are our greatest ambassadors; we count on you to help our school grow and succeed. This
program will reward both currently enrolled full-time Pre-K4 - 7th grade families who have referred
new families to Monsignor Slade Catholic School and the new family who enrolls.
Current Families
Open to all MSCS families with currently enrolled Pre-K4 (full-time) through 7th grade students
For every new family that lists your family's name in the “Referred by” field on their enrollment applicant form and
completes one full year of school with us, your family will receive a $250 tuition credit for the following school year.
Tuition credits are awarded on a per FAMILY, not per student, basis.
You may refer more than one new family and receive additional credit. The amount of referral tuition credits cannot
exceed the total Catholic rate tuition for any given year. Tuition credits cannot be redeemed for cash.
For example:
You recommend Family A for next year. Family A registers, lists your family in the “Referred by” field on the application
form, and successfully completes the 2017-2018 school year at Slade. Your family will then receive $250 credit toward the
2018-2019 school year in FACTS.
Your family was also listed on Family B’s application and they successfully completed the 2017-18 school year. Your family
will receive another $250 credit toward the 2018-2019 school year.
This can be repeated additional times for the same school year until the credit to your account equals one full 2018-2019
tuition rate (registered Catholic amount). *For referring family only.
Prospective New Families
A new family is defined as a family NOT currently enrolled in either the Pre-K program on the Pre-K4- 8th grade at MSCS.
Prospective families receive a $250 tuition credit by listing the fully enrolled Pre-K4 (full-time) - 7th grade Referring Fami-
ly’s name on their initial enrollment application. Tuition credits are awarded on a per FAMILY, not per student, basis.
Tuition credits are not transferrable.
Only one family may be listed as a Referring Family. There are no exceptions to this.
New family must be registered by October 31, 2017, and complete the entire 2017-2018 school year and be current on all ac-
counts in order to earn $250 credit toward 2018-2019 tuition.
Monsignor Slade Catholic School reserves the right to change, amend, or end this program at any time.
