What is Moodle?

What is Moodle?

• Moodle is an online Learning Management System (LMS) which allows teachers to create anything from an online quiz to an entire online course. (Clark - Pleasant Community School Corporation, 2009)

Benefits of Moodle

• Promotes a social constructionist pedagogy including collaboration activities, critical reflection, etc.

• Ideal resource to incorporate 21st Century skills into educational process.

• Suitable for 100% online classes as well as supplementing face to face learning.‐ ‐

• Simple, lightweight, efficient, compatible, low tech ‐browser interface.

Benefits of Moodle (cont.)

• Helps teachers save time and cut down on paperwork.

• Quizzes are graded automatically which allows for feedback to students at half the time.

• But more than that, it lets students learn together and independently at the same time.
