MOUT PrinciplesSurprise – the element of surprise is paramount

when clearing buildings

Security – securing the area around the building to prohibit more of the enemy entering

Simplicity – easier the concept, easier to train and becomes automatic

Speed – like surprise, speed is paramount to catch the enemy off guard

4 Man Stack

1 Man (rifleman) – Assumes position on the door first with eyes and weapon

oriented on door.2 Man (M203) – Close in tight with weapon oriented in the high or low ready.3 Man (TL) – Same actions as 2 with weapon oriented opposite of 2 man.4 Man (M249) – Same actions as 3 with weapon oriented in direction will move upon entry & also responsible for rear security.
