WhenIwasakidIwouldmakecrappymovieswithmybrothersandfriends.Godzillamovieswithtoysandpaperbackgrounds.Over-choreographedlivingroomlightsaberfightsthatneverlookedascoolastheyfelt.Backyardtrampolinewrestlingextravaganzaswithpreposteroussignaturemoves.Weknewtheywerecrappywhenweweremakingthem,butthatdidn’tmatter.

Weprobablyspentmoretimemakingourmoviesthanwedidwatchingthem,whichwasfinebyme—themakingwasthebestpart.Ieventuallystoppedmakingmovies,butneverstoppedmakingthings.Ialwayshavetohaveaproject,somethingfuntoworkon.MakingstuffisinmyDNA.

Thatnever-endingdesiretomakethingsiswhatledmetoInkTober,amonth-longdrawingeventcreatedbyartistJakeParkerthatchallengesartiststomakethirtyoneinkdrawings,oneaday.Itsoundedlikefun,butIneededatopic.

AroundthesametimeacoworkershowedmeaRedditthreadaboutmovietitleswithonelettermissing.Hilariouswhat-ifsandcould-have-beens,theyweremoviesthatwouldhavebeenfuntomakewithmybrotherandfriends.

SoIdidthenextbestthing.Idrewthem.EverydayImadeanewmoviewithasillydrawingandanewplotdescription.ItwastheclosestadultmecouldgettothosepapercraftJurassicParksandramshacklelightsaberfightsofmyyouth.Attheendofthemonth,afriendhelpedmepostagalleryoftheimagestosharewiththeRedditcommunity.AndthentheInternetexploded.
