- MSTS Asia Training Centre - Klinik Falck Bestari
Location No.3 Jalan Jenahak 1, 81620 Pengerang,

MSTS Asia is an MPM-approved respirator
fit tester. This service is available at Klinik
Falck Bestari Pengerang, as well as our
training centres in Johor Bahru and Miri. The
test is developed in accordance with the
standards from Malaysian Petroleum
Management (MPM) published in June 2014.
The fit test measures the seal between the
respirator’s face piece and user’s face. The test protocol conducted verifies whether a
specific model, type and size of a respirator can adequately fit a specific personnel.
Who should be tested?
The fit test is essential for personnel who are working in the upstream oil and gas industry
initially assigned to a job that requires the use of tight fitting respirators.
Duration
Approximately 20 minutes per individual
Prerequisites
Personnel are to provide details of the of the type of mask used.
In order to minimize the risk of leakage and maximize the quality of respirator fit:
Personnel are recommended to have a clean shave.
Personnel with long hair must tie their hair up.
Any jewelry on the face or around the face shall be removed during the fit test.
Types of Masks
Clients are advised to bring their own masks for the test.
We can provide quantitative tests using half and full masks including Draegar and 3M
models. Any other masks supported by our test device’s adapter can also be tested,
including MSA and North models.
Validity
2 years
However, a fit test needs to be repeated periodically whenever a personnel:
Changes respirator (size, style, model and make)
Personnel undergoes physical changes that could affect respirator fit, such as facial
scarring, dental changes, cosmetic surgery, or weight loss that affects the face
structure and shape.
Fit Test Certificate
Upon successful completion of the fit test, MSTS will issue a certificate and card indicating
the results and the validity of 2 years.
