Since mid-July 2021, Albania has been affected by wildfires, throughout several parts of itsterritory. Hundreds of hectares of forests, pastures and thousands of olive trees have beendestroyed especially in the Vlora and Fier regions. The Copernicus EMS Rapid MappingService has been requested to provide delineation mapping and monitoring.The present map shows the fire delineation in the area of Munelles (Albania). The thematiclayer has been derived from post-event satellite image using a by means of visualinterpretation. Due to dense smoke, the burnt area delineation is not complete. "Notanalysed" indicates an area that could not be analysed in any of the post-event images. Thescale of analysis is 1:50000. The estimated geometric accuracy (RMSE) is 20 m or better,from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image. The minimum mappingunit (MMU) is 2500 sq m.
