Announcements
Our class is featured on the morning announcements. Our building will tune in to
watch your child present on our morning news. Students are asked to arrive at
school at 8:20 with their script. Students should practice their script at home to
improve fluency (sports and weather scripts are to be written at home). The bus
will have students to school in plenty of time for the 8:20 expectation.

Fun Run Information
We’ve kicked off our fun run! The pledge packet was sent home on Monday.
Collecting pledges through social sharing is so easy! Don’t forget to register at
www.thegetmovingcrew.com. ALL students get to participate in the run and ALL
proceeds stay at Scott School to fund our field trips. Our goal is for each child
to raise at least $50.
Sara Cochrane is our Scott School Fun Run Coordinator. She is looking for
any parents who would like to help out with the Fun Run. If you are willing and able,
you can contact her at: cochrane@dewittschools.net
Denim & Diamonds Silent Auction
Our class Silent Auction basket this year is a Pamper Her Theme. A flyer
and envelope was sent home several days ago with information on this. If you have
any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! Donations can be sent in with the students
and can be monetary or actual items.
Big History Lessons If you haven’t yet signed up to help out at our Big History
Lessons week, please consider doing so. A reminder that
grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc… are also welcome to sign up. The
link for signing up is below:
Volunteer
We will not be having a Halloween party due to the fact that we will be
learning about Michigan’s history that day. However, students are encouraged to
dress up as someone from history! This has been a big hit in the past we’ve had
some very creative costumes from Albert Einstein to a roaring 20’s flapper! A list
of possible costume ideas are below (but are not limited to those). We just ask
that the costume be something from American history (and appropriate for 3rd
grade).
Costume ideas include:
● Native American ● lumberjack ● coal miner ● specific person from history ● “old-fashioned” boy or girl ● pioneer child
Parents are also welcome to join in on the fun! See some of the images below for
ideas. On Halloween we will have lunch from 12:15-1:00 if you are unable to
volunteer but just want to stop down and see us at the Historical Center.
