I chose this painting because I am a Catholic who is soon to be confirmed

and this painting moves me. It moves me because of the way Saint Francis’ expression is when he sees Jesus, full of sorrow and love. Also, the colors appeal to me. The main

colors are yellow and blue, blue resembling darkness and yellow representing light. This connects

the painting the light of God, through color! The artist did an

excellent job catching my attention.
