Hisanti-spameffortsarelargelyfocusedonshuttingdownthespammerswebsitesthroughcoordinatingwiththeirISPsandregistrars,notonfilteringorblocking,whichheseesasoptionsthateffectivelyignoreratherthansolvetheproblem.KnujOnhasshutdownmorethan30,000spamsites,andhasbeenaidedinthisbyInternetuserswhoforwardtheorganizationtheirjunkmail.Thejunkmailisusedtocreateadatabasethatlinkssitestoknownspammers.[1]
