Narco MK12D Service Manual

TP#29 (Supplement 2)

Dated: 3/1986

Foreword

The following document was made as a high-quality scan of Narco’s Technical Publication 29 to the MK12D Service Manual P/N 03118-0600. It updates the original MK12D manual to March of 1983. It is not the complete manual, but in many cases the schematics and such are helpful in any case. The work was originally was produced by Narco without copyright claim. Narco has unfortunately ceased doing business, so service manuals for the MK12D, especially originals, are a precious commodity. I find my MK12D outperforms, in many cases, newer radios in my plane as far as clarity and modulation quality, and certainly have the easiest-to-read display (when it works).

Text-only pages have been scanned at 300 dpi by a professional scanner, and all small-text or detail pages have been scanned at 600 dpi if black and white, or 400 dpi if there is color content. I think you will find the readability of the scans, especially schematics, to be excellent.

I do not claim any FAA compliance in the way I collected or handled this document—that is up to the individual doing the work. I can say that only Narco original stock was scanned, and that that original stock also contained minute typesetting or justification imperfections.

One thing I do ask, if this document helps you, is that you consider a small contribution ($5 or so) to offset the costs I incurred in scanning and stacking the PDF as you find here, which was done by a professional drafting house to preserve the large format of the schematics, without cutting them into A-sized pages first. I’m a fellow pilot, and work on the honor system. I didn’t undertake this project to make a profit from it, but rather to save pilots from replacing their otherwise serviceable radios at great cost, as shops cannot buy the manuals from Narco any longer, and other print sources do not always exercise care on reproduction or use microfiche, leading to inferior schematics.

If you have Narco MK12D or MK12D+ original content, dated later than 6/86, in paper or electronic form, please contact me at narcomanuals@gmail.com so I can add your material to the overall project to benefit all Narco owners!

Contributions to defray scanning cost can be Paypal’d to narcomanuals@gmail.com, and are appreciated. Once my original costs are met, I will remove this request from this page.

Thank you
