POSTCARD PONZI SCHEME ATLARGE!

Smartz Systems reportedly mailed a postcard for its get-rich-quick scheme to every home in the USA. Bewary the recipient. Just reading the details printed on the back of the card, and by putting two and twotogether, one can quickly realize what Smartz is offering: a ponzi scheme to get entangled in. The postcard arrives in the mail just like any other piece of junk mail, and almost doesn't stand out. But onceyou read it, you quickly notice the words printed at the top: "$5.00 TO FINANCIAL SUCCESS!" Sounds toogood to be true, doesn't it? Well, if it sounds too good to be true, it's probably a scam. Then the card says "Noproducts to buy and sell - simply use this postcard to INTRODUCE PEOPLE TO OUR COMPANY AND WEDO EVERYTHING ELSE" (pancapitalization mine), which pretty much informs you that it's a Ponzi scheme. Ifyou do not sell anything, and you work at home, then WTF are you doing?!?!?! If you are putting five dollarsinto a system in which you invite fifty people to put into as well, and earn ten dollars (N.B. - they actuallydidn't give a payout percentage, so the figure is hypothetical) from what those fifty paid paid to SmartzSystems, then the sad truth, my friend, is that you've just been conned by a student of Charles Ponzi, BernieMadoff, and the like... So what I'm trying to get at is: BE CAREFUL. If you receive such a postcard, THROW IT OUT. Or send it,along with a copy of this newspaper (or a clipping thereof) to the SEC and the FTC so they can begin aninvestigation of this business (and model) of unknown legality. SMARTZ SYSTEMS READ THIS BEFORE SUING: I am exercising my First Amendment rights to freespeech. If you sue, I will expose you in the courts!

Zine Distro Looking for Submssions!A Bird in the Hand Zine Distro is looking for submissions. That's because they are planning and lookingforward to expanding their market share, or possibly their readership. All businesses must expand in orderto survive. Bird In The Hand is a large zine distro, and has its own website as well as a Wordpress.comblog. I visited the distro website and blog today while on a quest for a zine distro to handle my current zineproject, a space exploration-turned-inner realization and spiritual enlightenment zine called "Staircase 2 theStars". I am impressed by this organization, and plan to submit my zine. How about you?

Book Review: Adam Smith's The Wealth of NationsAdam Smith's THE WEALTH OF NATIONS is a good book. It covers economic principles such as supplyand demand, division of labor, and competition for scarce resources such as raw materials as well ascompetition for physically-limited customer demand. The principles were relevant in Smith's time, as theyare now. Adam Smith is the quintessential 18th Century economist, and all economists coming after him (aswell as all entrepreneurs and business managers) owe their occupations to this great work of his. THE WEALTH OF NATIONS begins with a book on the division of labor, then delves into deeper subjectssuch as supply and demand (which is nowadays the first thing taught in Econ 101 classes) and then intobusiness models and the myriad reasons why governments should get the heck out of the marketplace. If you want to read a good book, read Adam Smith's THE WEALTH OF NATIONS today! Check it out fromyour local library!
