DESCRIPTION

Upon testing subject vehicles, NHTSA admits the park-to-reverse defect exists. On page 4, last paragraph it reads "In summary, when shifting from Reverse to Park, the shift lever could be placed in a range of positions between gated Reverse and gated Park where it would remain until acted on by an outside force." Also on page 20, "A flat spot on the manual detent lever between Reverse and Park appears to be a major factor contributing to mis-shiftting."
