neither will i condemn you!

Gospel:A reading

taken from the

Good News

according to St.John.(Chap 8, verses 1-

11)

Then Jesus

went up to the Mount

of Olives.

The next day, before sunrise, He returned

to the temple.

All the people came to Him and

He sat down and began teaching

them.

Then the Scribes and Pharisees brought before

Him a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery.

They made her stand in front of everyone and said to Him:

“Master, we have caught this woman in the act

of adultery.

Now, the Law of Moses orders

that such a woman be stoned to death

but what do you say?”They said this

to ensnare Him so that

they may have some charge against Him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write in the dust with his finger.

Because they kept asking,

Jesus stood up straight and said to them:

“Whoever among you is without sin,

let him cast the first stone at her.”

And He bent down again

writing in the dust.

As soon as they heard Him say this, they went

away, one by one, starting with the elders.

Jesus alone remained, with the woman standing before Him. He stood up and said to her:

“Woman, where are they?

Has no one condemned

you?”

“No one, Master” she replied.

“Neither will I condemn

you then,” Jesus said.

“Go and from this

day forth sin no more.”
