What is Nephritis?What is Nephritis?Nephritis is inflammation of the kidney

Acute nephritis has several causes and can lead to kidney failure

Nephritis is the term used when the glomeruli in the kidneys become inflamed

This means the blood is less able to pass through the blood vessels in the glomerulus

Auto-immune diseases

Symptoms of Symptoms of NephritisNephritis

One suffering from this disease could get affected to such an extent that they may not be able to function regularly. Below are just a few of the many symptoms of Nephritis

• Reduced urine

• Cloudy urine

• Blood in urine

• Edema (localized swelling caused by accumulation of tissue fluid)

• Loin pain (region below rib cage, above pelvis)

• Kidney inflammation (one or both kidneys infected)

• High blood pressure

• Tuberculosis- Nephritis can develop as a complication of tuberculosis

• Post-strep throat- Strep infections of the throat may cause Nephritis

• Pain relievers- Pain relievers such as ibuprofen and naproxen may be risk factors

Nephritis is usually common in young girls in their teens
