! Market Profile data
Background & Context ! NetDimensions is unusual in that is focused on highly
regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Medical Device Manufacturing, Automotive, Financial Services and Aviation. Our focus on license to operate environments has meant we have built up years of knowledge of working within the aviation ecosystem from the regulators such as EASA and the CAA.
! Numerous long haul and regional airlines including Type Rated Training Organisations (TRTO) such as Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic as well as regional carriers such as Air Arabia, as well as training Academies such as FinnAir Flight Academy, through to dedicated flight training organisations such as Flight Safety International and CAE.
Background & Context ! NetDimensions has had an emphasis on aviation since its
foundation; in fact one of our first clients was Cathay Pacific who continue to be a client to this day 15 years on. NetDimensions has a strong focus on compliance-orientated industries that have the requirement of High-Stakes training, exams and certifications. The requirements of the aviation market form the bedrock of our software product roadmap.
! Numerous features that are a routine part of airline staff workflow processing were directly incorporated into the feature set of the LMS. For example, the NetDimensions Exam and Certifications Manager is optimised for High-Stakes exams and managing Recurrent certifications with the notion of aviation grace periods. NetDimensions has worked with several airline organisations to define certifications to accommodate airline needs.
Significantly reduce costs and minimize time away from getting the job done ! You need a system that supports airline work patterns
and provides an intuitive and personalized user experience.
! It should be able to support aviation industry compliance for airline personnel (e.g. FAR 135, CAR 704, JAA regulations) with licensing and certification management functionality.
! It is should be compliant with industry standards (AICC, SCORM, PENS, IMS) and interoperable with other systems.
A single system to manage both internal and external staff ! You need a solution that is optimized for use by both
flight operations and commercial training airline to manage training, assessments/exams, and certification for: ! flight operations, ! flight crew training and cabin operations, ! flight dispatch, ! ground handling, engineering and maintenance, and ! operational security, ! as well as cargo operations.

Lost revenue and blindness ! Losing man hours (and millions in revenue) due to
downtime brought about by: ! required recertification and/or other regulatory training
programs in classrooms or training centers ! the need to conduct and process on-the-job or in-the-field
assessments
! No single view to keep track of competency and certification levels or validity for hundreds or thousands employees across the organization
Monitor learning, performance, and compliance in a single system ! You need a fully integrated compliance, mobile
learning, and performance management solution to: ! support the highest professional standards of your
operations ! adhere to aviation industry regulations ! ensure safety and competency of your staff
! A system or solution that provides you with both a high-level view and drill-down information on competencies, course-level compliance status and validity dates for the entire organization
Conduct exams that meet the needs of high-stake assessments for recurring training requirements ! Should be able to provide a detailed audit of all
activities on the system
! Should give you the ability to create, deliver, manage and report on exams – with detailed record keeping and the ability to add comments into exam transcripts
! Should support multiple levels of password control for exam delivery to facilitate proctored remote exams, as well as IP address restrictions on exam delivery location

website re: aviation or transportation ! Virgin Atlantic - …but not Exams
! SumTotal ! Case Study – Air Canada ! “We've worked with organizations such as American
Airlines, United, Delta, Air France, British Airways, US Airways and Air Canada, as well as regional airlines such as SkyWest and Air New Zealand.”

Selling to an Airline
Selling to an airline ! Who’s their regulator (CAA, FAA etc)?
! What type of fleet do they have? Mixed Fleet is good news for us. Is it a single aircraft type or mixed fleet (Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier etc)
! What type of airline are they? Long Haul, Short Haul, Regional, Budget etc. If they are budget, most elements such as training are outsourced. For example at Ryan Air, Flight Crew even pay for their own uniforms, Flight Crew pay to do training externally etc.
Selling to an Airline ! What aircraft types do they have? Please note, many
airlines refer to type A and type B, this simple means Airbus and Boeing. You need to drill down into the variants of type such as B747-400, B747-8, A380, A340 etc You should know how many aircraft of each type.
! Is MRO (maintenance repair operations) done in-house or subcontracted?
! Where is the main hub/base? British Airways = Heathrow, Virgin = Gatwick, Air Arabia = Sharjah
