17.2 CONFIGURE SCAN TO FOLDER (WINDOW XP)

SETTING AT THE PC

1. Double-click on [MY COMPUTER] on the desktop

2. Create a new folder in C drive of the PC. Name the folder as [Canonscan]

3. Highlight on the folder, right click and select [SHARING AND SECURITIES]

4. Share the folder to network. Make sure the [ALLOW NETWORK USERS TO

CHANGE MY FILES] option is checked if the option is available. If there is a

[PERMISSION] button, click on the button and allow [FULL CONTROL].

5. There will be a ‘hand' holding onto the folder.

6. Right-click the folder, select [SEND TO] and choose [DESKTOP

(SHORTCUT)]

7. Check the PC 'Computer Name' and ‘Workgroup’ by right clicking on the

‘My computer’ icon on the desktop before you do any setting at the copier.

8. Check and configure any firewall program.

SETTING AT THE COPIER

1. Press [SETTINGS/REGISTRATION]

2. Press [SET DESTINATION]

3. Press [REGISTER DESTINATIONS]

4. Press [REGISTER NEW DEST.]

5. Press [FILE]

6. Press [NAME]

7. Enter a name for the recipient

8. Press [OK]

9. Press the Protocol drop-down list

10. Select the desired protocol [SMB]

11. Select [BROWSE]

12. Select [COMPUTER NAME] of the

computer and press [DOWN] arrow

on the right hand side

13. Enter [USERNAME] (i.e. Windows

login username)

14. Enter [PASSWORD] (i.e. Windows

login password)

15. Press [OK]

16. Select the scan folder and press

the down arrow key on the right

hand side

17. Press [OK] x2

18. Press [DONE] until the basic features screen appear

23. DRIVER INSTALLATION Instructions to install the UFRII v20.90 printer driver

1.) Double click the

“UFRII_Driver_V2090_W32_uk_EN.exe”.

The files will

extract automatically to a folder.

2.) Double-click on the

‘UFRII_Driver_V2090_W32_uk_EN’ folder

on the

desktop.

3.) Double-click on the ‘Setup’ file with

the computer icon.

4.) Click ‘Next’.

5.) Click ‘Yes’.

6.) Select ‘Search for Network Printers to

Install’.

7.) Click ‘Next’.

8.) Click ‘Next’. The installation wizard will

attempt to search for the printers.

9.) Select the correct copier/copiers and click

the ‘Add’ button in the middle. (Please note

that the screenshot below is just an example.)

10.) Click ‘Next’. (Please note that the

screenshot below is just an example.)

11.) Click ‘Start’ to begin the installation.

12.) Click ‘Yes’ to continue.

13.) The Installation Wizard will start the installation.

14.) Uncheck the ‘Restart my computer now’ and click ‘Exit’.

24. NETWORK PRINTING FEATURES 24.1 SECURE PRINT (TO PRINT CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTS)

1. Select [SECURED PRINT]

A message box will apprear as below, explaining that the printing is now switched

to secured print mode.

9. Select [OK] to proceed printing

10. Select [OK] at print window

A message box will appear as below for you to key in the password

11. Enter the [DOCUMENT NAME] (This will appear at the touch screen of the copier)

12. Enter the [PIN] (0 – 9 numeric digits). This password has no reference to your

existing log-on network password

24.2 SECURE PRINT (TO RETRIEVE THE SECURED PRINT)

From the copier

1. Select [SECURED PRINT]

2. Select the confidential document

based on the document name or

username

3. Press [SECURED PRINT]

4. A pop up screen will appear

requesting for password

5. Enter the [PASSWORD]

6. Press [OK]

After the documents have been printed

out, it will immediately be purged from

the system. If documents are not

retrieved after 1 hour, it will also be

automatically purged from the system

24.3 TO PRINT TO THE COPIER MAILBOX

1. PRESS [STORE]

2. Press [DETAILS]

3. A message box will appear as below, indicate on the mailbox you went to

4. Press [OK]

5. Select [OK] again at print window
