MISSION STATEMENTLobos Rush Soccer is committed to providing an unparalleled soccer experience for all who have interest in the game of soccer. Lobos Rush promotes the development of character, the electricity of competition and the importance of pure enjoyment. Volunteer Commitment• Every family must work one 5 hour

tournament volunteer shift per seasonal year.

• Team Managers, Team Treasurers and Volunteer Board Members are exempt from working a tournament shift

• We also ask our U12 and up players to volunteer as soccer buddies for our TOPSoccer program.

Sideline Behavior• Only coaches should coach from the sideline.

• A spectators role is to cheer & encourage.

• Do not engage with referees or officials under any circumstances.

• Do not engage with opposition spectators (actively position yourself away from them)

• Do not discuss the performance of a player unless they are yours (even then, keep it positive).

• ALWAYS WALK AWAY

This covers Coaches, Players, Parents, Family Members and anyone else associated with the team

Conflict Resolution

95% of conflict arises between a coach and a parent due to playing time issues.

• Use the 24 Hour Rule (48 is even better).

• Open line of reasonable communication (coaches are not on call 24/7).

• Exhaust all avenues of resolution with the coach directly before escalating.

• Chain of Command for Escalation…..

Risk Management In February 2018, new legislation was signed into law aimed at protecting youth athletes against sexual abuse.

Main Points…

• Mandatory 24 hour reporting period for all adults.

• Youth sports providers must provide abuse prevention training.

• The statute of limitations is extended for up to 10 years after a victim realizes he or she was abused.

CSA Lobos Rush Reaction to the Legislation

• All staff, coaches and board members will go through mandatory abuse awareness training every two years. We’re also making the training available to every parent in the club at no charge.

• Added a Risk Manager position to the CSA Executive Board.

• Established simple reporting protocol as documented on our website
