Full Core, Rotary Core Plugs, & Backup Percussion Cores for XRD, XRF, TOC, & Shale P&P calibration. Cuttings for Chemostratigraphy Analysis
Use geochem multimineral logs calibrated to XRD to get the best estimate of total porosity & kerogen volume
Use NMR T1-T2 for water and invaded fluids distribution analysis (claybound, BVI, FFI). Potential direct measurement of effective porosity.
Utilize Dielectric Analysis in addition to NMR in oil shale plays
Use X-Y Dipole Shear & Z axis Stonely Shear to obtain gas pressure corrected measurements of DTC, DTSX, DTSY, & DTSZ for 3-D mechanical properties
Borehole Image Logs for fracture identification & orientation in fresh mud holes, bedding orientation & potential laminated sand count only in oil base mud holes.
DFIT for Coates Shale Perm calibration using NMR BVI & FFI. Also obtains closure stress & reservoir pressure
Shale Complete Vertical Evaluation Solution
Horizontal Evaluation – Options
Geosteering Options
LWD Cross Dipole (X-BAT) or rotating Single Dipole (BAT) for real time
steering. Direct measurement of horizontal anisotropy effects.
LaserStrat sample analysis for relative brittleness & mechanical proxy.
LWD imaging for hard fractured plays (like Barnett or Bakken)
Cased Hole ShaleXpertTM
Log an RMT-E pulsed neutron log (flasked if over 265F) by pump down, or
wireline tractor. Compute a CHI Modeled Triple Combo with lithology from
gain stabilized capture spectra for Silica and Calcite yields. Use CHI Triple
and lithology data in ShaleXpert.
If quality cement, Hostile Wavesonic X-Y Dipole can be run for DTC, DTSX,
& DTSY using wireline tractor conveyance. Use for horizontal anisotropy
measurement.

CAST-M (Monocable CAST)
CAST-M
CAST-M (mono conductor CAST)
Same Ultrasonic measurements, same Sensor Physics as CAST
2 ¾” OD tool – with 3 1/8” transducer head
Real time Telemetry Data is optimized for Log Quality Control but full Wave form data recorded in Internal Memory
Measurements
– Internal Radius
– Pipe Thickness
– Cement Acoustic Impedance
CAST-M Advantages
Ultrasonic Cement and Pipe Evaluation from 4.5” to 9.625” Casing
Combinable with CBL… no separate run, no wasted time. CBL + CAST provide the complete Cement Evaluation solution
Ability to run ACE and CASE advanced software for special applications
Rigless Operations, using MAST / Crane possible
Jobs can be done with well under pressure using PCE..
Run on any company’s Logging Unit with most standard electrical wirelines (with portable Surface System)

CAST-M produces similar equivalent data quality as CAST
Several CAST-M jobs performed in the field
prove tool produces same quality data as
CAST-F Tool.
HFPT (HAL Free Pipe Tool)

Game Changing Technology
Entirely New Method for Determination of Free Point
Comparison of two logging passes recorded at 60 to 120 ft/min
– First pass with pipe in neutral weight
– Second pass after stretch (or torque) applied to the pipe and
then the pipe returned to a neutral weight condition
Real Time Operations 24/7 satellite communications allows remote
based operator and service company pipe recovery experts to be
involved with well site decisions
No NPT waiting on Pipe Recovery expert with extensive hands on
experience to arrive on location

18” 18” 31” 26” 3
Tool Size 1.69” (4.69cm) OD
(Slim enough to go thru all Pipes)
Length 96” (243.84 cm)
(w/ centralizers)
Temperature Rating 350oF (176.67° C)
Pressure Rating 20,000 psi (1379.3 bars)
No moving parts
Actual Log Example – Logging sequence
Log Down with pipe weight neutral and zero torque
Stop the down logging pass +/- 200 ft below the estimated pipe stuck point
With the HFPT tool stationary
– Request the driller/tool pusher work the pipe from a neutral weight to stretch the drill string
– Request the driller/tool pusher to stop working the pipe and put it back in a neutral weight position
Record an up logging pass at the same logging speed as the down logging pass, stopping +/- 200 feet above the estimated stuck point
Merge the two logging passes down log neutral weight, up log neutral weight (after the pipe was stretched).
Determine Free Pipe
