Accessing Current Newspapers via Nexis UK and Press Display

You can access Nexis UK and Press Display either by searching the CityLibrary Search

(http://www.city.ac.uk/library/) or visiting the Journalism Subject Guide

(http://libguides.city.ac.uk/journalism). If you require any support or training in using these

Nexis UK

Nexis UK provides full text access to national, international and regional newspapers. It is updated

daily. It is especially useful for accessing full text articles from papers which operate pay-walls on

their websites such as the Times and the New York Times.

*Please note that you will only receive text on Nexis UK, no images or tables. *

Accessing today’s paper:

1. Change the date in each box

to today’s date.

2. Click ‘More Sources’ and start

typing the name of the paper you

wish to read. You’ll see a list drop

down, select the correct title and

click SEARCH

3. You will now see a list of

all articles published in the

paper today. Search within

your results or narrow by

subject, industry or people

4. Click preview to read, print or

save the article.

Press Display

PressDisplay provides full digital replicas of more than 2300 titles from 97 countries in 54

languages. Please be aware that Press Display only provides access to the last 2 months of

each publication.

1. Start typing the name of the

paper you wish to read and choose

from a drop-down list.

2. You now will see the current edition

of the paper you’ve selected. If you

want to see past editions, you can use

the calendar to navigate back.

backwards throughout the pages or

use the thumbnails to navigate

text view of the article and to
