When you first became our client in January of 2006, we reviewed your current accounting system to help us become familiar with your company. We noted, and
discussed with you, that your business was outgrowing the Excel software capabilities. Excel is a wonderful tool
to create forecasting models, and other charts for a business, but it wasn’t designed to keep track of your
day-to-day activities.
We have researched various accounting system software that would be appropriate for the needs of Cabin Fever. Before we go into the details of each program, we would
like you to review a list we have put together to show you the importance of using an accounting system software
rather than Excel.

According to Core Concepts of Accounting Information Systems:
• Entry-Level software is for smaller businesses who have revenue <$5 million, but up to 20 employees, and
• SMB software is for sales up to $100 million, up to 100 employees.
Since you are just above the $5 million mark, we recommend that Cabin Fever use entry-level software to begin with. Doing this would allow all employees to become familiar with the technology while your company grows. When you either employ more people or earn revenues over $10 million you can graduate to the next level of software if you feel your business is ready.
Accounting Software from our list used for entry-level businesses are: Peachtree and QuickBooks. We recommend using one of those programs.
While Quicken is inexpensive and a wonderful program, it may be too small for your business, but could very well be the best possibility. More research is needed to be sure.

All of our associates at Mathamagic, Inc. firmly believe that implementing an accounting system in the procedures of Cabin Fever would greatly benefit the business.
As you grow, you will gain more assets and liabilities. If you do not begin using a new system soon, you may find your records are getting more disorganized.
Your business is continuing to grow every year and having a new accounting system will bring more organization into the business.
