CAPs Core Values are A Guide for Life
We learned in Learn to Lead that CAP has identified four Core Valuesto guide every cadet. The Core Values are the four basic qualitiesCAP expects all members to display at all times: Integrity First,Volunteer Service, Excellence in All We Do, and Respect. These corevalues are to guide how we live and perform our CAP relatedmissions.
What is the difference between honesty and integrity? We shouldaspire to both but they are different tenants. Honesty means thatwhatever you've done, good or bad, you speak the truth about it. Inother words, you don't lie. Integrity means that you adhere to a moralconviction, or code of honor, that won't allow you to do certain thingsthat you feel would debase you. Integrity should guide each of us in
our choices.
Volunteer Service is the idea that it is our moral conviction and civic
responsibility to donate our time and efforts to make our community abetter place such as the food drive we participated in on November 17.
Excellence in all we do means that no matter the challenge we mighteach be faced with, that we aspire to give the challenge 100% of oureffort. For example, I try to give my PAO job a great effort toadvance our squadron. I know that each of our Executive Staff gives100% of themselves to lead our squadron.
Respect is the idea that we should treat each cadet in the same way we
would want to be treated. Each of us should aim for a spirit oftolerance and acceptance so that we can appreciate what each personcan contribute to our squadron.
Try to represent the core values with CAP and everyday as a guide foryour life.
