The name Nike is very much indeed ironic. Nike came from the Greek Goddess Nike. She sat on the side of Zeus and was known as an Olympic ruler of the Olympic pantheon. When going forth in battle a Greek would yell “when we go to battle and win, we say its Nike.”

Nike has always been an athletic brand. The company operates in North America, Western Europe, Central& Eastern Europe, greater China, Japan, and emerging markets. Nike products are made for athletic use but in today’s fashion their product is also worn casually, and for leisure time.
