Methodology (in brief): Development of the people can be sustainable only when
they are gainfully engaged in endeavours initiated for
them. As part of its mandate of serving and empowering
the community, HGVS has always practiced participatory
approach with due emphasis on gender equity. Since
HGVS works at the grass root level, developing viable and
replicable models of interventions is part of our strategy.
HGVS firmly believes that effective solution to these
community problems can be possible only if the same
comes from the community. Thus, the problem/situation
is made an issue for deep thinking, discussions among the
target community/group. Moreover, tools like PRA,
SARAR, and Nukkar-nattaks are put to use to take steps to
resolve the same. Our line of activities comprises
components related to community empowerment by
capacity-building of the target community. Moreover,
HGVS’s institution-building strategy aims to create
community-owned organizations from the village level
upwards, and gradually transfer project ownership and
management to these institutions after suitably equipping
them to perform this role.
Major Achievements: Under the project 12 SHGs were formed and strengthen in
05 villages of the Ganai cluster and federated into SHG
cluster federation. Women entrepreneur (37) developed
