NoodleBib InstructionsCreating citations in MLA, APA, or Chicago style

Access instructions

Go to www.hgtc.edu/library

• Click on the Citations tab

• Click on NoodleBib Full Version (if you only need to cite one or two sources, you may want to consider NoodleBib Express)

• Make note of the username and password if you are off-campus

• Login using your Personal ID and password if you are a returning user, or create a free new one

• Click on Bibliography in the upper part of the screen

Start by choosing a style

If choosing MLA, select the Advanced version

Please note the highlight above

Give a name to your list

What type of source are you citing?

Choose the best match from the drop-down menu then click on Create Citation

Answer the questions that are asked on the subsequent pages

Cut-and-paste if possible to avoid spelling errors

When you arrive at the Create Citation page, begin filling in the form

Unsure of what to enter in a certain field?Get help by reading the instructions to the right of each box

Help pops up when you click on a blue hyperlink within the instructions!

When you’re done, click on Check For

Errors

If you see any red boxes, read the instructions and make the necessary changes

Continue adding sources as you compile your list

Get expert help for citing tricky sources

When you are finished, click on Print/Export to have your entries formatted and prepared to turn in to your professor

Keep multiple works cited or bibliographies for your classes in one spot
